 RELATIONSHIPS

Any married man should forget his mistakes, there's no use in two people remembering the same thing. @ there is no point (in); It doesn't make any sense / makes (no) sense: It makes sense to book train tickets in advance because they are cheaper (be logical / illogical) 2. be comprehensible / incomprehensible. (impossible to understand, over one's head, paradoxical, unclear, unintelligible.

(In the end) Being single is a lot / far wiser than being in a/the wrong / complicated relationship * Prevention is far wiser / better than cure * This kid is way / much wiser than his age.

By all means, marry. If you get a good wife, you'll become happy; if you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

Don't be fretting about me marrying. Marrying's a trouble and not marrying's a trouble and I sticks to the trouble I knows. @ fret: be upset, worry; Fretting:1.Inquieto. 2, Concern, Anguish, Anxiety.

(You) Don't marry a/the person (you think) you can live with. Marry (only) the person / one (you think) you can't (truly) live without.

Getting married is very much / a lot like going to the restaurant with friends. You order what you want, and when you see what the other fellow has, you wish you had ordered that.@ My wife is a lot like me in many ways @ I wish you would; if I could I would, but I ...

If you're not married, chances are / the likelihood is that you think a lot about you @ It seems likely; In all likelihood If you are afraid of loneliness, don’t marry. @ To marry is much commoner when used transitively or reciprocally; 2. figurative (join together).

It is true that love is blind but marriage is definitely an eye-opener * It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages.

Love is an ideal thing, marriage a real thing * The amazing thing about marriage is that you are a unit. You are not alone. Even on the worst of days you still have each other to fall back on.

Marriage is (about) give and take. You'd better give it to her or she'll take it anyway * A happy marriage is a matter of / about give and take / giving and taking; give and take / giving and taking; the husband gives and the wife takes / I give and you take * Marriage is not about age; it's about finding the right person * Marriage is neither heaven nor hell, it is simply purgatory. @ Your comment, though interesting, is neither here nor there (h(irrelevant,  it is not important: Whether they go or not is neither here nor there as far as I'm concerned. @ However: I thought it would be easy to find a job; I was wrong, though (3)

One should be always in love. That is the reason / That’s why one should never marry.

Promiscuity is like never reading past the first page. Monogamy is like reading the same book over and over (again); (again and again) @ repeatedly, continually, constantly ...

To get divorced because love has died is like selling your car because it's run out of gas.

There may be good, but there are no pleasant marriages.

What I tell young couples that are getting married is: you're going to have quarrels, and on some things, you're just going to have to agree to disagree * Women always worry about the things that men forget; men always worry about the things women remember.

As to marriage or celibacy, let a man take which course he will, he will be sure to repent.

* Women might be able to fake orgasms. But men can fake a whole relationship.

Before marriage, a girl has to make love to a man to hold him. After marriage, she has to hold him to make love to him.
