TEACHING SENTENCES

TEACHING SENTENCES

Alas / Unfortunately / Unluckily / Sadly / Regrettably, My fun days are over * As a  writer, you have to first of all write what you want to. Listen to advice, by all means, but don't get bogged down in it * I work hard to improve myself as a person, as a father, as a husband, as a manager * As for me, all I know is (that) I know nothing * As for discipline and rules, I confess, I've never been good with either * I'm slightly unsure as to what my goal is. I just keep doing jobs * I have principles in my professional and personal life as to how things are done * As an actor, you're always nervous as to what a director will do with something * When I was young, I had no choice as to what I was eating * Lost time is never found again * Virtue is found in the middle * Rome wasn't built in a day * No pain no gain * It is a clear gain to sacrifice pleasure in order to avoid pain * It's funny how I'm good at giving advice to others, but when it comes to helping myself, I don't know what to do * The sense of obligation is what I hate most about being a married millenial / is what distinguishes duties from hobbies * It’s not what you say. It’s how you say it * Look, you have to make mistakes. That's how you learn and that's how the world works * (Maybe) that's how you learn, by answering questions / by asking / doing / practicing (it) * When you reach the top, that's when the climb begins * I've only ever been wrong once and that was when I thought I was wrong * Everyone makes their own comments. That's how rumors get started * It's (far/way) better to be hated for what you are than (to be) loved for what/someone you're not * It's disappointing to miss the target but what is most important is we keep / to continue improving * I think what's most important is family * I think what's most important is for people to understand that they can advertise on Instagram * It's easy (for people) to strike if they're not working on a regular basis * If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion * If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales * I want to inspire people. I want someone to look at me and say 'because of you, I didn't give up * Most importantly, I want for people to understand that we all have a role to play in bringing about this change, that this is everybody's responsibility; this is not just about mums and dads or key political figures. This is about you and me! * It's easy to impress me. I'm easily impresionable/influenced * It’s a lack of clarity that /which creates chaos and frustration * It's pessimism that /which clouds our visión * You don't learn to walk by following rules. You learn by doing and by falling over * If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV * The important thing is not to stop questioning * The only failure is not to try * Remind yourself that it's ok not to be perfect * It's a big house with a swimming pool. What's not to like (about that)? (¿Qué es lo que no puede gustar de eso?) * Imagination is more important than knowledge * I'd rather annoy with the truth than please with adulation * Marriage is give and take. You'd better give it to her or she'll take it anyway * When the going gets tough, the tough get going * The hardest thing about learning English is understanding the gerund * I Wish I didn't have to work for a living * I wish there would be more movies about scientists.
